CPC Welcomes Chief Andrew Leisenring to Its Board of Directors

The Child Protection Center (CPC) is proud to welcome the Police Chief of the Venice Police Department, Andrew Leisenring, to its Board of Directors. With over two decades of experience as a dedicated law enforcement professional and his longtime advocacy for child safety, Leisenring brings invaluable experience and a deep commitment to CPC’s mission of preventing child abuse before it occurs and supporting survivors.

Leisenring’s connection to CPC began through his work as a police officer and detective, where he frequently collaborated with the organization. “Through my work, I’ve seen the long-lasting negative impacts of child abuse. It is comforting to know that CPC is there to help individuals and families put the pieces back together. They empower survivors to take back what the offenders took from them,” he shares.

In addition to his professional support, Chief Leisenring and his family championed the Child Protection Center’s Ripple of Hope program as the very first donors to sign up for monthly giving, ensuring a consistent impact. His wife, Melissa, has also provided invaluable support through serving on the Night of Hope & Healing committee, helping establish it as a “can’t miss” annual event of Venice. This devotion is the manifestation of their belief in CPC’s mission and their passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. “I am honored to join the Child Protection Center’s Board of Directors as CPC has been a cornerstone in the fight against child abuse. This appointment reflects the shared commitment to the safety and well-being of children in our community.  Protecting children is a top priority, and I look forward to collaborating with CPC to enhance our efforts in creating a safe environment for all children in Venice as well as throughout Sarasota and Desoto counties,” Leisenring expressed when discussing his decision to further his involvement.

As CPC continues to expand its efforts in child protection, advocacy, and survivor empowerment, Leisenring’s expertise will help guide the organization in its critical work. “We are honored to have Chief Andrew Leisenring join our Board of Directors,” said Executive Director Doug Staley. “His firsthand experience in law enforcement and his passion for protecting children align perfectly with our mission. We look forward to the insight and leadership he will bring to CPC.”
